It's been a bit of a slow start to the year for Hollybird Beads, but we are back with new designs and plans for tutorials and craft fairs. I'm part of an online beading group and am taking part in their weekly challenge, aiming to produce a pendant every week for the whole of 2013.

I'm a little behind due to day-job related time constraints, but I hope to complete this challenge both using my current repertoire and by creating new designs along the way too. One of the first new pieces born from this challenge is 'Tudor Rose,' an elegant floral piece which features a Swarovski rivoli centrepiece. I've also been working on designs featuring the new Czech glass spike beads, such as the copper, rose gold and sapphire 'Athena's Blossom' necklace below. Expect plenty more new beadwoven sparkle in the next few weeks!
